Mate tea from the Paraguay holly plant is an incredibly aromatic and tonic drink with a smoky aroma. He saved the ancient Hindus from a malignant disease, and then from their colonizers.

What it is useful for:

• Mate tea contains matein, a substance that tones muscles and relieves physical stress. Mate's properties are similar to caffeine. However, it acts more gently without overloading the cardiovascular system and without causing the excessive excitement inherent in caffeine. The effect of maten is longer and does not cause sleep disturbances.
• High antioxidants, higher than green tea.
• It is rich in trace minerals including sodium, potassium, iron, manganese, magnesium and copper.
• It contains tannins that have a positive effect on the gastric mucosa.
• The content of bioflavonoids, quercetin, rutin is high.
• It is a source of B group vitamins, E, C and A vitamins.

Mate tea is not recommended during pregnancy, small children and high blood pressure.

Cooking methods:

• In Latin America, tea mate is still drunk throughout the day. In the morning, a strongly brewed drink invigorates, saves you from thirst during the day, and in the evening, mate with honey helps you relax and fall asleep quickly.
• Pour a few teaspoons of mate into the teapot, cover with hot water, wait 5-10 minutes, enjoy the taste and aroma hot or cold.
